Terms of Use
These terms apply when you use MyToolery. They are short because the site is simple: it hands you a tool, the tool runs on your own machine, and nothing changes hands. Using the site means you accept what follows.
Scope
These terms cover the website at mytoolery.com and every tool on it, in all languages. They are between you and the independent developer who operates the site.
There is nothing to sign up for and no contract to sign. Using the site is the acceptance, and closing the tab is the exit.
What you may use the tools for
Anything lawful. Personal projects, client work, commercial work, teaching, and use inside a company are all fine, and no attribution is required.
Output belongs to you. A password the generator produced, a UUID, a QR code, a converted image, a formatted document: none of it is claimed by this site, and no licence is asserted over it.
The tools are provided free of charge. That is not a promise to keep any particular tool online forever; a tool may be changed or withdrawn, though the intent is to keep what works available.
No warranty
The tools are provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
This is not boilerplate you should skim. Real limits exist: floating-point arithmetic rounds, browsers differ in their handling of encodings and time zones, cryptographic parsers can disagree about malformed input, and a random number generator is only as good as the browser primitive underneath it. Results should be verified before you rely on them for anything that matters.
Specifically, do not treat the certificate, JWT, subnet or hash tools as a security audit, and do not treat the password generator as an assurance about the systems where you use its output.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of this site is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or of anything it produces, including lost data, lost profits, business interruption, or any indirect or consequential loss.
Because the site is free and collects nothing from you, where liability cannot be excluded entirely it is limited to the amount you paid to use it, which is nothing.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, such as liability for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case the exclusions above apply only as far as that jurisdiction permits.
Your data stays yours
The tools run inside your browser and what you enter is not transmitted, so there is nothing here for the site to own, licence, retain or disclose.
The one exception is entirely under your control: the wheel spinner can save your list of entries in your own browser storage if you tick the box, and that data never leaves your device. The privacy page describes all of this in full.
Third-party services
The site loads Google AdSense and Google Tag Manager, and is served through Cloudflare. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy policies, not these, and this site has no control over what they do with the technical request data they receive.
Advertisements are supplied by Google and its partners. Their content is not chosen, reviewed or endorsed by this site, and an ad appearing here is not a recommendation. Links in advertisements lead to third-party sites that these terms do not cover.
Acceptable use
Do not use the site in a way that interferes with it working for other people: automated request floods, attempts to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the infrastructure, or anything unlawful.
Scraping the pages for reference is not something anyone will chase you over, and the site publishes a machine-readable summary at /llms.txt precisely so that automated readers do not have to guess. Republishing the written content wholesale as your own is a different matter, and is not permitted.
Content and trade marks
The MyToolery name and logo, and the written content on these pages, belong to the site operator. The tool implementations, layout and text may not be copied wholesale for a competing site.
Quoting a passage with a link back is fine and welcome. So is linking to any page here from anywhere.
Changes to these terms
These terms may change as the site changes. The revision date below shows when they were last updated, and continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the revised version.
Material changes will not be applied retroactively to anything you did before them, which for a site that stores nothing about you is a narrow question in any case.
